The Wild Unknown

The Wild Unknown Tarot has entered my life. I had been craving getting into tarot, but no cards I had come across until I met these really spoke to me at all. And these ones are so gorgeous! I could just flip through the deck and look at them all day long. I'm having fun getting to know the deck and playing with giving readings. The journey begins...

I love this little suede fringe pouch that a friend gave me for my birthday. It's been the perfect new home to keep my cards in. This is the first ever 3-card spread I did for myself the day I got it!

Above are a few of my favorite cards, though they are all so beautiful. The Strength card in particular I really love, being a Leo with the middle name Rose and all. ;)

If you're interested and on the West Coast, tomorrow is the start of The Wild Unknown Tarot Tour! Dates, locations, and details are below. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to any of these lovely events because I am doing other amazing things (like going sailing and being a part of my best friend's wedding). Check out their website and blog for further inspiration! And let me know if you want to drink wine and read cards with me sometime.

Love Haight

In three days I pack up my home in Portland, OR to move back to Bellingham. I have so many mixed emotions about this major transition in my life. I'm really going to miss this little home that Brian and I have created for ourselves these last two years. It's the first place we've lived together, and the first place I've lived that I have really been able to make a home out of. Before I start boxing it all up, I wanted to share some photos of our space in a format I'll be able to look back on fondly.

Good-bye Haight Hotel! You've been so good to us and all of our guests. xoxo

Love Lace

Lace tunic- Free People
Lace skirt- 3 Monkeys
Duster- Frenchi via Crossroads
Necklaces- Calico Jewelry

I am completely in love with this lace tunic from Free People. Since I work next door to Free People, I am constantly walking past their front window, through which I have been admiring this piece for months. So, I finally broke down and bought it, and it was so worth it. I've already worn it a dozen times. It's so great to layer with skirts and tights or jeans, and of course a cozy sweater. And in the summer, it will have a whole new look!

Aaannnd this purple shell and feather necklace is for sale in my shop!

Chevon, Lace & Denim

Dress, hoodie, tights- 3 Monkeys
Denim shirt- Mom brought it back from Italy in 2001?
Boots- Nine West via DSW
Purse- Crossroads
Earrings- Gift
Necklaces- Calico Jewelry

Gaaahh, taking pictures in the wind and rain is so hard. It's dark and gray and the wind blows my hair all around and makes me look crazy. Sooo... I'm not really too pleased with these images, but whatevs. #firstworldproblems

I do love this dress though, and I don't know why I haven't been wearing it more. It really works as a warm weather dress on it's own, or layered up for cooler weather. I love clothing like that. It's kind of a requirement for me when I buy things, since it's only warm and sunny here for approximately 57 days of the year. The other 308 days it is dark, gray, raining and/or windy. But ah, I do love the Northwest, and I can't imagine living anywhere else. :)

Tapestry Clutch DIY

Remember that tapestry clutch purse I styled last week? Here's how I made it! Basically, I found a needlepoint place mat at a thrift store, folded it in thirds end to end to create an envelop shape, and sewed some vintage lace down the sides to make it a little bigger so I could actually get my stuff inside.

Supplies
needlepoint place mat
lace
hook and eye closure
scissors
needle & thread
straight pins
2 jewelry jump rings (optional)
purse strap (optional)

1. Cut and pin lace onto place mat where needed, probably in a wedge shape. 2. Stitch lace in place. I used really random stitching and made sure to stitch through the thicker parts of the lace. 3. If you would like your purse to have a strap, stitch on metal jump rings, one on either side, near the flap opening. 4. Stitch on hook and eye closure, hook under the flap and loop on the front of the purse. Clip on your strap if you're adding one, and you're good to go! You can always take the strap off if you want to use it has a clutch.

Now you have a cute (and borderline tacky) new hand bag! In case you don't believe me that these things are actually on trend right now, here's proof. Plus Free People makes one. So there. :)
